Idvd-Getting Started when you first open Idvd you see a small dialog box click on: either Creating a new project or opening an existing project
command N. this opens the project dialog box next... we can name our DVD and where to put it eg. my document or my desktop. we can choose a ratio for the DVD. Click Create our Project is then Created
Existing Projects an existing project can be a project that you created on another computer or on a previous version of iDVD. Firstly you click on create an existing project when you first open up iDVD. You can click on the file menu and go down to open or use the keyboard shortcut command 'o'.
Next we can pick which folder we want. click on the one you want and click open. The project is then created on idvd.
Creating a one-step DVD To create a one step DVD you can click and choose the option in the opening idvd dialog box or you can click on the file menu and go down to to the one step DVD option button. you'll be creating a DVD that automatically plays when you insert a DVD player. we can connect to our digital. We can insert a blank disk and one step DVD will rewind our tape, import our video and burn it directly to DVD.
Themes to choose a theme for your Idvd project, you can start by clicking on themes in the lower right corner. the themes are then viewable on tthe right hand side and there's a small menu at the very top that you can click on and view different collection. for example, you can take a look at just the 6.0 themes, the 5.0 themes and older themes. the thumbnails down below are referred as the theme master. clicking on the theme masters will change all the menus in your project. for example, let's click on sunflower. a small dialog appears and tell us applying the master of a theme family to this project will change for all of the menus in this project. i'll click OK. the menus are then changed and we can see what themes looks like over to the left. most themes will have a small triangle to the left of the theme master. you can click on the triangle and view different menus down below. for example, within the the modern theme we can see what the main menu looks like, the chapters and extras. now you can look through all of the themes that are available and choose one for the project.
Mixing Themes You can use a mix of different themes in your DVD project. On the right hand side, there is a center stage chosen for my theme. you can use a different theme for the scene selection or chapters menu. move over to the left and double click on scene selection and now your viewing that menu. next you'll move over to the left and double click on scene section and now your viewing that menu. next you'll move over to the right and scroll down. under the theme family of soft frame you can locate the chapters or scene selection menu.you 'd like to this for your DVD project. what you can do is click right on the thumbnail and this menu is changed over to the left. inside the menu, you'll move over to the left and click on the small Arrow to go back to our main menu and for our main menu the center stage theme is used
Saving A Theme As A Favourite if you've made changes to a theme or mixed themes together for your project, you can save your customized theme as a favourite. To do this, we can click on the file menu and go down to save a theme as a favourite. in the dialog box up, and you can give a theme a name. you can have some check boxes you can choose to share this with all of the users on our computer and replace existing themes with the same name. You can leave it checked then click ok over to the right. to view our theme favourites, then you can move over to the right hand side and click on the themes collection menu.
