Garage Band is a software application for the Mac OS X and iOS which allows users of Garage Band to create music or prodcasts. It was developed by Apple as a part of the iLifesoftware package.
Music Lessons
A new feature of Garage Band is that you are able to download pre-recorded music lessons from Garage Band’s Store for the guitar and piano. There are two different types of lessons available in the Lesson Store: Basic Lessons which are free to download and Artist Lessons which have to be bought. The first Basic Lesson for both guitar and piano are included with Garage Band.
In both types of lesson a music teacher presents the lesson which is in a special format offering high quality video and audio instructions. The lessons include a virtual guitar or piano which demonstrates finger position and a musical notational area to show the correct musical notations. The music examples used in these lessons features popular music.
Making Some Arrangements
As you record, Garage Band helps you add structure to your song. Most songs are arranged in distinct sections: introduction, verse, and chorus. With the sections clearlydefined, you can rearrange your song at any time. If you want to repeat a verse just copy and paste. Move the chorus click and drag. All the tracks that belong to a section go along with it.
Multi-track Recording
Got a guitar or keyboard? Just plug it into your Mac and start playing. Sing into the built-in microphone (or plug one in). And suddenly you’re a recording artist. You can use over 100 built-in software instruments that even include backing vocals. Record each track one by one or bring the whole band over and lay down multiple tracks together. Garage Band supports Mac OS X-compatible audio I/O devices, so it’s possible to record up to eight real instruments simultaneously and hundreds of tracks.
Saving your music pieces
To save your music pieces you make your own music project you have to click the save button.
You can add movies and pictures from your camera or dvd's. If you click on new project you will see instruments, song writing, podcast and movies.
Opening Garageband
Alot of options If your new to instruments you click learn to play Lots of creation and you can make ring tones for your iphone. If you saved a project you can browse them through resent projects.
Connecting an instrument
You can change the sentativity by using the slider.
